Project Manager

Overview

As Project Manager on the Cornwall Schools contract, you will lead multiple education facility projects from inception to completion, safeguarding minimal disruption to teaching spaces. You’ll develop plans, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to meet quality standards. You will build strong relationships with school leaders, local authorities and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant delivery. Responsibilities

• Manage multiple school-site projects from inception to delivery, on time, within budget and to quality standards
• Develop project plans, schedules and budgets; monitor performance and implement corrective actions
• Build and maintain relationships with school leadership, local authorities, client stakeholders and internal teams as primary contact
• Coordinate internal engineering teams and subcontractors; ensure compliance with Mitie standards, safeguarding requirements and regulations
• Conduct inspections, quality audits, risk assessments and handovers; promote health and safety and drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Proven experience in projects within facilities management, construction, engineering or building maintenance
• Strong planning, budgeting, risk management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership abilities with multi-project management experience
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and safe systems of work
• Desirable: PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP or equivalent; experience in educational environments, FM or public sector contracts
