Overview

As Project Manager for the ETP project in Cardiff, you will lead the delivery of HV transmission and distribution initiatives, ensuring safety, on-time completion, and contract-aligned budget performance. You will set project standards, manage programmes, and oversee site and subcontractor teams while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. The role emphasizes commercial oversight, resource planning, and resolving issues to protect gross margin and project outcomes. This is a chance to shape multi-disciplinary, energy-transition projects within a respected engineering contractor.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the project safely, on time, within contract and budget
• Set and uphold project standards and ensure requirements are met
• Identify and resolve issues in a controlled, timely way
• Plan, review and deliver contract programmes
• Line-manage Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers
• Maintain effective client relationships and provide progress updates to stakeholders
• Ensure resource and materials plans are in place
• Escalate operational issues to the Project Director as needed
• Oversee commercial activities including gross margin, cost control and financial metrics
• Manage subcontractors to ensure performance aligns with financial targets

Key requirements

• Experience delivering HV Transmission & Distribution or Major Civils projects
• Experience in a Project Managerial role
• HNC / HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree)
• Experience on complex multi-discipline enhancement projects with controls on programme and cost
