As a Clinical Negligence Senior Associate, you will lead high-value defendant claims within a specialist healthcare litigation team. You’ll manage your own caseload, support senior colleagues on strategic matters, and mentor junior fee earners, while helping grow the Cardiff practice and strengthen client relationships. Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims, including complex and high-severity matters
- Support senior colleagues on large-scale, strategically important litigation
- Build strong relationships with healthcare clients and provide clear, commercially focused advice
- Supervise and mentor junior fee earners where appropriate
- Contribute to business development activities including training, seminars, and client engagement
- Assist in growing and profiling the Cardiff team
Key requirements
- 5+ years’ PQE (or equivalent) in defendant clinical negligence
- Experience handling complex litigation and managing own caseload
- Excellent communication and ability to build trusted client relationships
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience supervising junior colleagues (advantageous)
