Overview
In this role you will design, develop and maintain electrical sub-assemblies for Edwards’ customised abatement products. You will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to meet specifications and safety standards. You’ll verify designs through calculations and testing, select components to meet legislation and customer expectations, and document designs and BOMs in line with machinery directives. The position supports product development with a focus on quality, cost, and timely delivery. Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modules/sub-assemblies for new or customised products following engineering processes
- Ensure designs meet engineering specifications and relevant safety standards
- Verify designs via calculation and/or testing to confirm conformance
- Select and introduce components to satisfy legislation and customer expectations
- Own the design and development of sub-assemblies ensuring quality and cost targets within project timescales
- Document design details (models, drawings, BOMs, test data) in accordance with Machinery Directive requirements
- Collaborate within a multi-discipline team to deliver integrated solutions
Key requirements
- 2 years industry experience – essential
- 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD Electrical and/or other drafting tools) – essential
- 3D CAD skills – desirable
- Experience in product development and introductions – desirable
- Basic fault finding – essential
- Some experience with PLC – desirable
- Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly – desirable
- Experience with various engineering materials and manufacturing methods – desirable
