Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage applications to appoint professional and lay deputies
- Advise on Personal Injury Trusts and attorneyship matters
- Prepare and manage Statutory Will applications
- Advise on sections 36(9) and 54 of the Trustee Act 1925
- Prepare annual Deputy Reports for the Office of the Public Guardian
- Collaborate with personal injury and clinical negligence teams on compensation matters
- Support high value and complex deputyships with senior colleagues
- Ensure clients receive state benefits and manage budgets, investments and tax returns
- Handle sensitive family dynamics with professionalism and empathy
- Assist with property purchases, adaptations, insurance and ongoing management
- Liaise with case managers and therapy professionals
- Supervise and mentor junior team members
- Attend networking and marketing events to support team growth
Key requirements
- Strong Court of Protection experience (3+ years PQE preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and OPG Deputy Standards
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
