Senior Quantity Surveyor – 60k – 75k plus full package

Overview

In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role you will manage commercial and contractual issues on assigned apartment projects in London, reporting to the Commercial Manager. You will oversee procurement, cost reporting, valuations and payments, and handle contract variations and correspondence. You will lead a small team of QSs and trainees, guiding task delivery and performance. The work focuses on delivering medium to high-rise RC frame developments for housing associations and private clients, supporting overall project value and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Preparing tender and contract documents
• Reviewing Client amendments to JCT contracts
• Cost analysis for tender returns
• Feasibility studies and establishing client requirements
• Risk and value management and cost control
• Advising on procurement strategy
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
• Allocating work to subcontractors
• Contractual claims advice
• Progress reporting and cost valuation
• Maintaining awareness of building contracts in use
• Health and safety implications awareness
• Preparing monthly cost reports
• Sub-contract and client valuations
• Guiding sub-team members

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience
• BSc in Surveying or equivalent
• Experience in writing specifications and contract administration during construction
• Management experience of internal team members and external clients
• Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
