Head of Finance

Overview

In this Head of Finance role, you will lead a sizeable finance team within a fast-growing, PE-backed retail group. You’ll partner with senior operations and commercial leaders to drive profitability, budgeting, forecasting and robust financial controls across multiple sites. Your impact will focus on value creation, reporting enhancement and strategic growth initiatives, including site openings and acquisitions. Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a ~20-person finance team with succession planning
• Own financial performance for a multi-site retail operation
• Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability and commercial decision-making
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across units and sites
• Provide insightful analysis to boost operational efficiency and business performance
• Drive finance business partnering across operations, commercial, supply chain and support functions
• Support strategic growth initiatives including new sites, acquisitions and integrations
• Enhance reporting, KPIs and performance metrics for informed decision-making
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and provide challenge where appropriate
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and risk management frameworks
• Support leadership in delivering the business growth strategy

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience leading sizeable finance teams (direct and indirect reports)
• Multi-site experience in retail/consumer/hospitality or similar environments
• Proven experience partnering with senior operational stakeholders
• Track record in fast-paced, high-growth settings
• Strong commercial mindset with influence on decision making and performance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
