Overview
In this role you will join a specialist clinical negligence team in Bristol to handle high-value birth injury cases and support Partners. You will manage a varied caseload, advise clients, develop networks, and mentor junior lawyers, all within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. You will help drive a risk-aware culture and contribute to departmental KPIs. This is an opportunity to shape outcomes for families while advancing in a recognised practice area.

Responsibilities
- Assist Partners on high-value birth injury litigation
- Manage a personal caseload of clinical negligence matters
- Build strong client relationships and advise on risks, outcomes, options and timescales
- Scope fees and manage WIP, time recording and billing
- Support development of a risk-aware culture
- Grow internal and external networks
- Coach and mentor junior lawyers
- Work towards personal and team KPIs aligned with departmental strategy
Key requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ PQE in clinical negligence
- Experience handling high-value and complex birth injury cases
- Previous experience assisting Partners on complex matters
- Strong technical ability and excellent client care skills
- Confidence managing sensitive and challenging cases
- Ability to mentor and support junior colleagues
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset
