Equity Research Analyst, China

Overview

In this role you will join a Global Emerging Markets investment team in London, focusing on Chinese equities. You will research Chinese companies, build financial models, and assess business models and macro drivers to generate high-conviction ideas. You will engage with management, attend conferences, and present findings to the GEM team to inform portfolio discussions. This is an opportunity to contribute to long-term, fundamental investing at a leading asset manager with a strong track record. You will work closely with portfolio managers to shape ideas and drive investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research on Chinese companies to identify high conviction investment ideas
• Build detailed financial models and analyze company reports to support investment recommendations
• Evaluate business models and macro conditions impacting sectors and companies
• Engage in management meetings, conferences, and company visits
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and GEM team, contributing to portfolio discussions
• Present investment ideas and research to the team and participate in collaborative debates

Key requirements

• Relevant buy-side equity research experience, ideally covering Chinese markets
• Native Mandarin speaker
• Deep knowledge of Chinese equity markets
• Strong academic background
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
