Senior Research Analyst/Actuary, Longevity Research

Overview

In this role you contribute to SCOR’s longevity research program, updating mortality trends and developing models to support profitable new business across global markets. You will lead small research projects, extract insights from demographic literature, and present findings to senior stakeholders. The position combines scientific rigor with commercial impact, aligning research with SCOR pricing guidelines and product strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand the global longevity offering and communicate complex analyses clearly.

Responsibilities

• Update mortality trends for multiple countries to support new business
• Apply machine learning techniques to model mortality rates
• Set demographic assumptions for medically underwritten annuities
• Design innovative new products for global markets
• Produce concise technical documentation and present work to senior stakeholders
• Collaborate with Longevity Pricing team to implement research bases
• Maintain pricing bases and tools to enable profitable new business
• Keep abreast of developments in longevity research and the global market
• Attend external seminars/webinars and share learnings with the team
• Develop a strong network with SCOR colleagues, especially the Biometric Team in Paris

Key requirements

• Keen interest in longevity research
• Ability to lead small research projects with minimal oversight
• Ability to quickly extract key information from demographic research papers
• Proven ability to deliver and meet deadlines
• Actuary status or experience in actuarial/statistical teams
• Several years of experience in demographic assumptions or pricing (longevity or protection)
• Educated to degree level or equivalent with strong academic record
