Overview

In this role you will supervise a small Contract Disputes team while managing your own caseload of consumer and commercial disputes. You will oversee high-quality case handling across Small Claims, Fast Track and Intermediate Track, and you will negotiate, litigate, and guide clients through the Civil Courts. The position sits within a growing Volume Litigation function and offers leadership development in a supportive, ambitious culture. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver exceptional service and drive efficient case progression, with a clear focus on risk management and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of fee earners in the Contract Disputes unit
  • Manage a caseload of consumer and commercial contract disputes
  • Assess prospects of success and advise clients early
  • Negotiate and litigate claims through the Civil Courts, including trials
  • Ensure cases progress efficiently and meet regulatory and client requirements

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with strong Contract Law and Civil Procedure experience
  • Background in Fast Track or Intermediate Track litigation
  • Previous supervisory, mentoring or people management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer-focused approach with ability to explain complex issues clearly and empathetically
