Responsibilities

  • Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety
  • Alter and modify design to meet customer requirements
  • Estimate budget and scope of project
  • Management of Risk and Opportunity
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector
  • Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention and LfE capture
  • Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting
  • Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety i.e. Safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)
  • Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Gloveboxes and associated processes; familiarity with Welding, NDT techniques is advantageous
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
  • Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
  • BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field
