Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design electrical electrical systems for high-profile building projects. You will work within Cundall’s Building Services team to deliver energy-efficient design across government, healthcare, workplace and residential sectors. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure technically excellent and commercially viable outcomes. The role supports your path to chartership through accredited development programmes, reinforcing the firm’s Zero Carbon Design 2030 mission. You will contribute to sustainable, decarbonised built environments and gain exposure to international projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative electrical design solutions for diverse building projects in the UK and internationally
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage project delivery and ensure technical excellence
• Support profitable project outcomes for public and private clients
• Contribute to site inspections, surveys, and detailed design development
• Engage with development plans and professional growth opportunities under coach/leadership guidance
• Assist in achieving zero carbon design goals through sustainable solutions

Key requirements

• Degree-level education in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent)
• Consultancy experience in design and coordination of electrical distribution, power generation, lighting, security systems
• Proficiency with ProDesign (Amtech); ideally also Revit and Dialux
• Experience in low energy design, site inspections, and detail design development
• Creative and intuitive design mindset
• Strong communication, initiative, and collaborative, client-focused approach
