RoleOverview

We are seeking anexperienced Business Analyst for a major Sanctions ControlEnvironment project within a broader Integrated Financial CrimeChange Programme at a large financialinstitution.

The role assesses the currentsanctions control environment, using regulatory expectations andmarket practice to identify gaps, define requirements and supportprioritised remediation.

This role works acrossbusinesses and functions, partnering with Financial CrimeCompliance, First Line control owners, Operations, Technology, Dataand Change.

The successful candidate will combinestrong business analysis discipline with substantive sanctionstransformation experience, producing clear, traceable outputs thatsupport implementation and sustainableclosure.

KeyResponsibilities

Support theSanctions Control Environment project from current-state assessmentand requirements definition through testing, implementationreadiness and closure.

Coreaccountabilities:

  • Assessthe current sanctions control environment against FCA Systems &Controls expectations and relevant marketpractice.

  • Documentcurrent-state processes, controls, ownership, hand-offs, systemsand datadependencies.

  • Perform gapand root-cause analysis, distinguishing control design issues fromexecution or evidenceweaknesses.

  • Elicit, documentand validate business, control, data and technologyrequirements.

  • Maintaintraceability from regulatory expectation and identified gap throughrequirement, solution, testing and closureevidence.

  • Produce processmaps, control maps, requirements, decision logs and other clearanalyticalartefacts.

  • Support solutiondesign, testing, implementation readiness and stakeholderacceptance.

  • Identify risks,issues, dependencies and decisions, escalating material concernspromptly.

CandidateProfile

An experienced BusinessAnalyst combining sanctions change knowledge with rigorous analysisand documentation.

EssentialExperience

  • Substantialbusiness analysis experience within sanctions, financial crimetransformation, remediation or controlenhancement.

  • Experience ofcurrent-state assessment, requirements definition, process andcontrol mapping and gapanalysis.

  • Ability totranslate regulatory and control expectations into clear, testablerequirements.

  • Experiencemaintaining traceability across analysis, delivery, testing andimplementation.

  • Effectiveengagement across business, compliance, operations, technology,data and changestakeholders.

  • Strong writtencommunication, facilitation, problem-solving and attention todetail.

HighlyDesirable

Experience in one ormore of thefollowing:

  • Documenting,assessing or delivering changes to sanctionscontrols.

  • Financial crimesystems and controls reviews or regulatoryremediation.

  • Control designand operating effectivenessassessment.

  • Testing support,implementation readiness and closureevidence.
