Overview

In this role you guide a small, high-performing development team to deliver real-time sports betting software. You balance hands-on architecture with people leadership, collaborating closely with the Product Owner to ensure high-quality delivery. You’ll foster engineering excellence and continuous improvement while creating a developer-friendly environment that enables focus and innovation. • Guide and inspire a small, high-performing development team
• Balance hands-on architecture and coding with people management
• Collaborate with Product Owner to drive backlog delivery
• Oversee full delivery lifecycle to high standards

Key requirements

• Strong backend software engineering experience
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience
• Technical and team leadership, mentoring and coaching experience
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Knowledge of CS fundamentals (OOP, multithreading, design patterns, data structures)
• Comfort with agentic AI coding
• Collaborative and pragmatic communication with stakeholders
