Senior Compliance Officer

Overview

In this role, you will strengthen Teya’s second-line compliance function and safeguard regulatory integrity while enabling growth in a fast-growing fintech. You will partner with Legal, Product, Risk, and Operations to embed compliance into product design and scaling. You’ll advise on regulatory needs for new markets, lead regulatory filings, and refine policies and controls. The role blends risk management with cross-functional collaboration to support the expansion of a mission-driven payments platform for small businesses.

Responsibilities

• Product Compliance & Advisory with cross-functional teams to embed regulatory requirements in design and scaling
• Regulatory Support for Global Expansion, assessing licensing and consumer protection obligations in new markets
• Regulatory Reporting & Engagement, coordinating filings and communications with regulators
• Policies, Controls & Operational Oversight, updating policies and testing controls to reduce risk
• Regulatory Change Management, tracking developments and delivering practical guidance and training
• Monitoring, Audits & Thematic Reviews, conducting reviews and audits with actionable insights

Key requirements

• 5/6+ years of relevant compliance experience in fintech, digital banking, or financial services
• University degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Strong knowledge of UK/EU regulations (PRA, FCA, EBA, PSD2, CRD) or local EEA rules
• Excellent written and verbal communication for memos, policies, and regulatory communications
• Proven ability to drive process improvement in workflows, tools, or procedures
• Desirable but not required: CAMS, ICA Advanced AML, CFCS; strong data/analytical skills (SQL, Excel)
