Canvas Compliance Officer

Overview

As Compliance Officer in London, you will support Canvas FRG by coordinating compliance matters for regional analysts, conducting due diligence and onboarding, and monitoring communications and chaperone coverage. You will work with the global Canvas Compliance team to improve oversight, stay aligned with EMEA regulations, and help refine policies. This role emphasizes process, ethics, and cross-border collaboration within a global investment environment. You will drive practical compliance improvements and ensure adherence to privacy and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the compliance contact for Canvas Research Analysts in EMEA and Asia
• Onboard new Canvas FRG LLC consultants and conduct annual re-reviews
• Chaperone consultant calls and document activities
• Monitor and review communications between analysts and discretionary investment professionals
• Track chaperone coverage in the compliance management system
• Coordinate quarterly invoicing/payments with Finance under data privacy rules
• Participate in Insider Dealing/Insider Trading training for Canvas Analysts
• Suggest and implement improvements to compliance oversight and processes
• Stay updated on EMEA laws, regulatory initiatives and case law
• Propose enhancements to policies and procedures

Key requirements

• 2-4 years of compliance experience in financial services
• Strong understanding of FCA and European regulatory environment
• Attention to detail and meticulous output
• Highly organized, process-driven, able to work independently
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and follow through
• Collaborate with broader compliance team
• Excellent reading, writing, and interpersonal communication skills
