Financial Controller

Overview

In this role you will own the UK entity’s financial affairs end-to-end, reporting to the US finance function. You’ll drive month-end and year-end close, VAT, payroll, and tax returns, ensuring accurate financials for a standalone UK operation within a global private equity group. You’ll work with cross-border teams, maintain ledgers, and enable timely, compliant reporting. The role offers autonomy in a boutique environment with exposure to a US-led finance function and UK statutory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce month-end and year-end financial information
• Prepare and post month-end journals
• Complete month-end processes and trial balance
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Process monthly payroll
• Maintain and reconcile sales and purchase ledgers
• Prepare annual tax returns

Key requirements

• Qualified or QBE Accountant
• Experience owning a finance function in a small environment
• Ability to work autonomously
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct (benefit)
