Project Accountant

Overview

In this fix-term role, you’ll own project accounting for EMEA entities, handling invoicing, project setup, and budget revisions while supporting related finance functions. You will collaborate with Project Managers and Finance to ensure accurate billing, cost tracking, and currency handling. You’ll contribute to a cross-functional finance team delivering world-class project support for pharmaceutical clients. This position offers hands-on impact in a nimble, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly invoices with supporting documentation
• Coordinate project approvals with Project Managers before invoicing
• Set up new projects, perform budget revisions, and enter cost transfers
• Ensure billing rates are correctly configured for each project
• Calculate and post construction management fees and direct costs
• Issue weekly cost reports to Project Managers
• Record project-related Accounts Payable and manage Accounts Receivable as needed
• Handle multi-currency transactions and currency reporting
• Collaborate with EMEA Finance Manager and project stakeholders on financial operations
• Perform tasks assigned by the EMEA Finance Manager

Key requirements

• Significant relevant work experience
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Part Qualified Accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) advantageous
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Highly reliable with strong organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with internal and external contacts
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel
• Hands-on experience with one or more project cost accounting system
