Overview
In this role you will lead electrical design for high-profile data centre projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You will shape technical strategies, review and develop designs, and engage directly with clients to drive project delivery. The position combines hands-on design with mentoring junior engineers and contributing to fee proposals and business development. This is an opportunity to grow in a growing data centre sector while applying your consulting expertise to global projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce electrical designs including schematics, layouts, and calculations
- Prepare specifications, calculations, schedules, and project reports
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to inform design
- Develop detailed, coordinated designs with multi-disciplinary teams
- Contribute to project meetings with electrical expertise
- Assist with fee proposals and business development
- Collaborate with regional and international offices on project delivery
- Support the development of junior engineers and participate in project planning and proposals
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent)
- Experience in a consulting engineering role
- Chartered status or working towards it (supported by employer)
- Strong initiative, problem-solving, and collaboration
- Willingness to transition into data centre sector via internal training program DC101
