Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design packages from concept to construction
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports
• Design LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, and power systems
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines
• Attend design and client meetings as technical lead
• Review designs and guide junior engineers
• Help manage project programmes, budgets and deliverables
• Support development of junior/intermediate electrical team members
• Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient design
• Utilise CAD/BIM tools for design and coordination

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Significant experience in an MEP/building-services consultancy
• Strong knowledge of electrical building-services design
• Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages
• Confident client and design-team communication
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project constraints
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proactive, practical problem-solving approach
• Professional registration or working towards IEng/CEng advantageous
