Job Description:

My Client, an International bank in London, with a strong structured finance focus, seeks an Analyst/Junior Associate level banker, with circa 12-24 months experience across Transport finance, to join their Shipping team in the City.

The role will involve :

To monitor and manage the portfolio of existing Ship Finance transactions, including regular credit risk assessment and “close monitoring” of Watch List cases, as appropriate.

To manage, in accordance with the requirements stipulated in each loan agreement and any applicable additional internal rules, the periodic covenant monitoring and reporting of Ship Finance loans, including any other regular internal reporting that may be required.

To act as a point of contact for external parties in relation to the ongoing management of each loan, which includes (but not limited to), terms amendment requests and Insurance renewals.

To review, manage and respond to any requests for waivers or other changes to facilities, in consultation with colleagues in Ship Finance Department, Loan Administration, Legal, Global Credit Supervision Department and any other appropriate departments.

To coordinate the regular Asset Assessment process for the Ship Finance portfolio, including the preparation of reports for approval by the relevant Relationship Manager.

To assist Relationship Managers with gathering and checking information required for periodic “Know Your Customer” checks.

To carry out such other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Head of Department or other appropriate members of the senior management team.

To carry out other duties as requested by General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Good educational background, preferably ACIB/Degree qualified.

Strong numeracy and familiarity with financial and credit analysis techniques.

Minimum 18 months’ experience in portfolio management, preferably in the Ship Finance sector, gained within a recognised Bank actively engaged in international syndicated lending. “Middle Office” experience preferred.
