Overview

As Director in HR M&A Transactions, you will lead strategy, delivery, and commercial growth for HR-focused M&A work. You’ll shape HR strategies that enable M&A objectives and translate data into compelling client insights. You’ll manage end-to-end HR M&A engagements across the deal lifecycle, driving people-led transformation and ensuring compliance and high-quality delivery. You’ll represent EY in the market, shaping our HR M&A proposition and building trusted client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes across multi-disciplinary teams and global clients in a dynamic consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end HR M&A engagements across the full deal lifecycle (Due Diligence, Sell & Separate, Buy & Integrate)
  • Shape and deliver people-led transformation programmes to improve organizational performance and realise deal value
  • Develop high-quality RFP responses and client proposals with timely, professional execution
  • Ensure compliance with EY’s Quality and Risk Management requirements throughout the engagement
  • Build and sustain trusted client relationships and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams
  • Uphold EY’s quality, risk, and commercial standards across engagements
  • Strengthen EY’s reputation as a trusted partner in HR M&A and people-led transformation
  • Lead, coach and develop HR M&A consultants in complex delivery environments
  • Partner with client leadership to guide the delivery journey and foster a collaborative team culture
  • Contribute to business development and to EY’s go-to-market strategy for M&A People services
  • Monitor and interpret engagement and financial performance metrics and translate strategy into actionable plans

Key requirements

  • Significant experience across HR M&A, HR strategy, HR transformation and HR consulting
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, fast-paced programmes with confidence
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills at senior executive level
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to distill complexity into actionable insights
  • Passion for people, M&A, and sustaining client relationships
  • Personal drive, resilience, and commitment to high-quality outcomes
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability to lead diverse teams and clients through change
  • Experience with domestic and international clients and willingness to travel
  • Track record of establishing a credible SMR reputation in professional services
  • Desirable: degree and post-graduate qualification; global/cross-border M&A experience
