Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you shape electrical engineering across the lifecycle of water projects, contributing to the Yorkshire Water framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, review, and integrate electrical systems for treatment facilities, while mentoring engineers and engaging with clients. Your work improves water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering safe, reliable systems at scale. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment on client sites
• Work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA across new and legacy systems
• Produce and review technical specifications and procurement-related documents; assess tender bids and technical submissions
• Supervise and mentor Graduates and Engineers to develop their knowledge and skills
• Apply and contribute to design standards including Client and WIMES standards
• Engage positively with clients, build relationships and support their objectives

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Chartered or Incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Water industry experience
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across operation region
