Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will drive the design of full machinery from concept to build within a growing engineering team. You’ll work with SolidWorks on diverse projects for UK and international clients, contributing to a pipeline of long-term programs. This position blends hands-on design with practical manufacture support, offering clear growth pathways from trainee to leadership. Responsibilities

• Research and develop concepts through to detailed design
• Adapt existing designs into new machine formats
• Modify and improve existing equipment and machinery
• Support build and prototype development
• Design fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel
• Collaborate on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation

Key requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Experience designing full machinery
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience managing designs through full lifecycle from concept to installation
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Knowledge of electrical components and interfaces
