Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a respected building services consultancy in Birmingham, delivering electrical engineering across healthcare, high-end residential, retail and hotel sectors. You will work alongside Principal and Associate engineers, guiding projects from inception to completion—from surveying and design to coordination, reporting and inspection of installations. The position supports growth and engineering excellence within a renowned team. You will help shape sustainable, aesthetically pleasing buildings and mentor junior engineers, enhancing the firm’s multi-disciplinary impact.

Responsibilities

• Survey and site/investigations of electrical services
• Electrical design and coordination across project stages
• Reporting on progress and compliance
• Inspecting installations and ensuring quality
• Collaborating with Principal/Associate engineers and other disciplines
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Contributing to multi-sector projects (Healthcare, residential, Retail, hotel) across inception to completion

Key requirements

• 5/6 years experience in a building services consultancy environment
• Proficient in Amtech, Dialux and CAD (ideally Revit)
• Passion for sustainable and aesthetically pleasing buildings
• Good commercial awareness
• Ability to tutor junior engineers
