Overview
In this Industrial Placement, you contribute to lighting design across projects from concept to detailed specifications, working with a team of experts in architectural lighting and daylighting. You gain hands-on experience on national and international assignments while progressively taking on more responsibility. You’ll develop technical skills, coordinate with designers and engineers, and support project delivery and reporting. Responsibilities
- Hands-on lighting design for a range of projects
- Carrying out lighting calculations
- Preparation of renderings, drawings, and specifications
- Assisting the production of project-related correspondence and reports
- Project and team administration duties
- Co-ordinating work with designers and engineers of other disciplines
Key requirements
- Studying a recognised degree or diploma in lighting, architecture, engineering, product design or interior design, graduating in 2028 or 2029
- A level (or equivalent) in Maths desirable
- 2.1 or above in relevant modules advantageous
- Familiarity with 3D modelling software desirable
- Knowledge of lighting software, including daylight analysis software, advantageous
- Skills in drawing/sketching and presentation tools (Photoshop, Illustrator) desirable
- Experience in coding, software and digital skills advantageous
