Senior Transport Planner

Overview

As Senior Transport Planner, you will contribute to Development Planning and Management across the UK, tackling diverse transport analyses to support planning applications. You will work with private and public sector clients, architects and planners to shape masterplans and transport reports. Responsibilities

• Lead the production and delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Masterplans and related reports to support development
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients through the development life cycle
• Mentor junior staff and oversee their output to ensure technical quality, budget, and schedule
• Assist in preparing fee proposals and support project delivery to budget and programme
• Participate in client meetings and negotiations with Local Authorities and regulatory bodies

Key requirements

• Degree in an analytical subject (Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Economics or similar)
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (CIHT, SoRSA, CILT, IHE, TPS, ICE)
• Experience in development-related transport analysis and assessment
• Proficiency with transportation software packages and ability to produce high-quality transport reports
• Experience liaising with clients, local authorities and regulatory bodies; familiarity with the UK planning system
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior staff
• Track record on transportation planning projects and client-facing work
• Ability to work independently and in a team; good presentation and technical writing skills using MS Office
