Operations Manager

Overview

As a key member of the senior management team, you will support the Practice Manager to steer the practice’s operations, governance and strategic direction. You’ll work across departments, understand NHS funding and primary care modelling, and drive quality improvement and service delivery for our registered patients. This rural GP practice values proactive leadership, collaboration with the PCN and external partners, and continuous improvement to sustain our Outstanding CQC rating.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to line managers
• Prepare contractual reporting and data analysis
• Lead audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Support QOF achievement and related activity
• Lead patient complaints handling within governance processes
• Support enhanced service delivery and access initiatives
• Manage DNA activity and access models for hard-to-reach communities
• Foster relationships with external agencies, care homes, PCN and partners
• Deliver staff training and development programs
• Support data extraction for clinical reporting and evidence for improvements
• Review and update clinical templates and reporting processes
• Support CQC activity and evidence logging for inspections
• Compile activity data to support projections and P&L reporting

Key requirements

• Primary care leadership experience
• Experience in project development and implementation
• Performance management, appraisals and staff development
• Working with the general public
• Understanding of employment law
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Understanding of CQC requirements
• Chairing meetings, creating agendas and minutes
