IT Infrastructure Operations and Security Lead

Overview

In this role you lead IT infrastructure operations and security for a global commercial insurance environment, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient platforms. You will manage a small team, coordinate with stakeholders and vendors, and stay hands-on with core Microsoft and broader enterprise IT systems. You shape cloud and on-premises architectures, security controls, and disaster recovery plans to support global business operations. This position offers impact through security-first modernization and migration of legacy estates to cloud services. A strong focus on cross-functional collaboration and risk management anchors your work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT operations and security across cloud and on-premises platforms
• Lead a small IT team and manage stakeholder and vendor relationships
• Define cloud security policies, IAM, and access controls in a cloud-first environment
• Implement zero-trust security principles and monitor threats using cloud-native tools
• Maintain DR/BCP plans with biannual tests and ensure regulatory compliance
• Manage software patching, estate management, and network/security infrastructure
• Lead technology projects, migrations, and service improvements with minimal business disruption
• Drive automation and process optimization in IT service delivery

Key requirements

• Extensive global infrastructure management experience (last 5+ years)
• Proven experience migrating legacy VM estates to SaaS and Azure
• Strong IAM expertise including Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, PAM
• Security frameworks knowledge (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS); GDPR, SOC2
• Experience with SIEM, threat detection, vulnerability management, and endpoint security
• Vendor and MSP management with focus on SLAs and cost-effectiveness
• ITIL-based service management and project leadership
• Windows Server, AD, SQL, firewalls/SD-WAN, and networking knowledge
