Adhoc Care Assistant (Care Home)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality personal and emotional support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and wellbeing. You will assist with daily living activities, ensure a safe and comfortable environment, and work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, including washing, dressing, and feeding residents
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of aids and equipment
• Support residents with daily routines and social activities to encourage independence
• Administer medication under supervision in line with care plans
• Maintain accurate and confidential care records and reports
• Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition
• Follow safeguarding and confidentiality protocols
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the care setting
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multi multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualities

• Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to care for others
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centered care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Knowledge of moving and handling techniques and infection control procedures

Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
• Previous experience in a care home or similar care setting
• Training in First Aid, Moving and Handling, Safeguarding Adults, and Food Hygiene preferred
• Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
