In this Industrial Placement, you will support Arup’s Belfast Energy, Water & Resources team on water and wastewater projects, contributing to design, assessment, and delivery. You’ll work with cross-disciplinary teams to develop drainage designs, conduct technical studies, and assist with project administration. The role offers exposure to real projects like NI Water and the Killyhevlin WTW upgrade, with opportunities to develop digital design skills and client-facing collaboration. Responsibilities
- Support the team across a broad set of tasks
- Assist with project management activities, including contract administration, costing, cost reviews and project registers
- Contribute to civil engineering design, including drainage design and multi-discipline coordination
- Carry out technical studies and assessments, including flood risk assessments
- Use and develop digital tools and specialist civil design software
- Help organise and attend team events
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred); backgrounds in Environmental, Chemical Engineering or Earth Sciences considered
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and GIS experience advantageous
