Senior or Principal Transport Planner

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a portfolio of transport planning projects across the South West from Taunton, Exeter or Bristol. You’ll work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team on development and infrastructure schemes, supporting technical delivery and client engagement. The position offers strong progression through mentoring and training to reach professional qualifications. You will shape outcomes on strategic land developments and public sector commissions while growing your expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support the technical delivery of transportation projects
• Produce Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
• Conduct transport studies and associated technical analysis
• Support junction modelling and analysis work
• Liaise with clients, design teams, local authorities and stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior team members

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in transportation, geography, engineering or related discipline
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, with junction modelling/analysis skills and use of relevant software
• Strong numerical ability, experience managing project budgets and quality
• Working towards (or keen to achieve) a professional qualification such as TPP
• Proven track record in project delivery, client management and stakeholder engagement
