Overview
In this Senior Engineer role, you will lead and shape mechanical, electrical, and public health projects within WSP’s Cambridge Building Services MEP team. You will work in a joint leadership capacity, delivering design and technical guidance across multidisciplinary projects and driving feasibility, detailed design, and specification production. The position combines independent takes on technical work with client-facing delivery and team supervision. Responsibilities
- Lead projects for the MEP discipline and support the overall project team
- Provide design and technical guidance within a multidisciplinary MEP group
- Work with initiative on technical aspects with minimal supervision
- Supervise detailed designs and oversee others in the function
- Lead feasibility studies and assess discipline-specific feasibility
- Direct production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline
- Review design programmes and ensure resource availability for delivery
Key requirements
- Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to building services
- UK project experience within Building Services MEP
- Experience with design software for allocation/direction of work (Revit MEP, AutoCAD)
- Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for project direction
- Revit MEP or other 3D design software experience (allocation of work)
