Senior Electrical Engineer – Sustaining SAQ

Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer in Bristol drives reactive, customer-driven electrical support within the SAQ framework. You address live service issues, lead 8D-based investigations, and define dispositions and corrective actions to restore function and maintain trust in deployed equipment. You collaborate with Field Service to close actions quickly, ensuring safe, compliant solutions under time pressure. You also design and develop sub-assemblies per PCP, balancing quality, cost, and schedule, making a tangible impact on product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive electrical engineering support through SAQ to resolve live service issues
• Lead 8D problem solving, root cause analysis, and engineering dispositions
• Define concessions and corrective actions and coordinate with Field Service for timely closures
• Design and develop sub-assemblies of products per PCP and verify designs meet requirements
• Document design data, models, drawings, BOMs, and test data in a timely manner per TCF requirements
• Ensure solutions are safe, compliant, and robust under time-critical conditions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure milestones and quality targets are met

Key requirements

• Electrically biased engineering degree or equivalent with 2 years industry experience
• Experience in product development and introductions (advantage)
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly
• Experience with a range of engineering materials and manufacturing methods
• Proficient in 3D/2D CAD (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD or equivalent)
• Understanding of P&IDs and system schematics
• Results-oriented with ability to meet project milestones under pressure
• Ability to report concisely to senior engineers and project manager
