Overview

As Director of Human Resources, you will shape a people strategy that aligns with hotel goals and drives a culture where associates thrive. You will sit on the Executive Committee, partnering with the General Manager to translate priorities into people initiatives that impact guest experiences. You will lead talent, engagement, and leadership development while using data to inform decisions and challenge the status quo. This is a strategic, business-facing HR role at a flagship property with a strong brand and history. You will influence culture, drive performance, and ensure an outstanding associate experience that supports hotel success.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business priorities into an effective hotel HR strategy and own the HR business plan
  • Advise and coach senior leaders; lead key people initiatives with measurable business results
  • Champion associate engagement and respond to engagement insights
  • Leverage people data (retention, vacancies, engagement, succession, development) in EC discussions
  • Represent the people agenda in owner and leadership discussions; act as change leader for major initiatives
  • Lead succession and workforce planning; build a diverse leadership pipeline
  • Coordinate the Human Capital Review and ensure follow-up actions
  • Identify high-potential talent and create growth opportunities; balance internal development with external recruitment
  • Oversee reward and recognition; align with total compensation strategy; monitor internal equity
  • Guide employee relations; support on-property HR team; optimize HR systems and programs

Key requirements

  • Strategic HR leadership with commercial thinking
  • Experience in hospitality or luxury/people-intensive environments valued
  • Ability to partner with executive leadership and coach managers
  • Experience with succession planning, talent development, and workforce planning
  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs
