Overview

In this Technical Specialist role within AECOM’s Transportation team, you will lead the delivery of evaluation and benefits management projects, shaping strategy and growing the service line. You’ll engage clients, oversee technical delivery, and contribute to bid development and cross-functional collaboration. Your leadership will drive innovation and capability development across projects in the UK. Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership to grow the evaluation and benefits management work area
• Client and stakeholder engagement and advisory support
• Oversight of complex evaluation projects and quality delivery
• Business development, bid preparation, and cross-organisation collaboration
• Team development, mentoring, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in evaluation
• Higher degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
• Chartered status or membership in CIHT/TPS/UK Evaluation Society
• Experience applying mixed methods in evaluation
• Proven theory-based and quasi-experimental evaluation design
• Track record in benefits management design and implementation
• Strong analytical skills (data handling, statistics, economics, value)
• Leadership, team management, and mentoring capabilities
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations
• Understanding of how AI platforms can assist in evaluation and benefits management
