Overview
As a Senior Credit Controller at QBE, you will drive prompt collection and reconciliation of premiums across UK and European operations, ensuring debts are chased and cash is allocated accurately. You will own Broker Accounts, resolve collection issues, and support the management team in hitting daily and monthly targets. You’ll develop broker relationships and improve processes to minimise bad debts and improve cash flow, contributing to the underwriting division’s risk and financial objectives. This role blends hands-on credit control with stakeholder collaboration in a purpose-driven insurer ahead of broader growth.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage Broker Accounts to ensure timely debt collection and accurate cash coding
- Review escalated cash or debt collection issues to clear them promptly
- Ensure debts due are collected and explore all avenues for overdue collections
- Reconcile broker statements and complete any unreconciled premiums
- Identify brokers with high queries and develop strategies to reduce queries in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop, maintain and improve process documentation and user guides
- Analyze process-related data, highlight issues, and propose solutions
- Resolve queries from internal/external clients and extended teams within required timeframes
- Support Business Continuity by performing transactional activities as needed
- Ensure accurate data capture across processes to enable reliable management information (MI)
Key requirements
- Relationship management experience
- Experience working within a credit control function
- Customer service experience with good communications, negotiation and influencing skills
- Intermediate level use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
