Overview

In this role you will shape digital products for UK public sector and large enterprises, leveraging leading technologies to deliver user-centred solutions with societal impact. You will collaborate across user, technical and business teams to design services that meet user needs and drive business outcomes. You’ll lead design workshops, create artefacts, and partner with researchers and developers to validate concepts through rapid prototypes. Responsibilities

  • Deliver in the UK public sector following GDS standards and Service Standard Assessments
  • Oversee end-to-end design of new digital products and services
  • Produce high-quality design artefacts (personas, service maps, wireframes)
  • Lead design workshops and design sprints with team, stakeholders and users
  • Collaborate with researchers to base designs on user needs
  • Rapidly design and test digital prototypes with users
  • Train and mentor other designers

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering in the UK public sector using GOV.UK design system, adhering to GDS standards and passing Service Standard Assessments
  • Strong user-centred design experience from concept to delivery
  • Proficiency in rapid paper and digital prototyping; work with developers; understanding of security, accessibility, version control and hosting
  • Experience in agile, multi-disciplinary delivery teams and delivering new services within large, complex transformation programs
