In this role you will contribute to Murphy Applied Engineering by delivering integrated permanent works designs for civil and structural projects. You will collaborate with the MAE team, visit sites, and mentor junior staff while shaping solutions that balance technical excellence with project delivery. The position sits at the heart of cross-disciplinary design across Murphy’s sectors, advancing sustainable and economical engineering outcomes. This is a hands-on role with significant impact on bid and delivery stages, team learning, and client-facing advice.

Responsibilities
- Represent the MAE team in project meetings
- Carry out civil/structural designs
- Undertake site visits where appropriate
- Collate feedback and contribute to lessons learned
- Prepare fully integrated permanent works proposals for bids and projects
- Mentor junior staff and graduates
Key requirements
- HND/Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Proficient in concrete and steelwork design using software and hand calculations to Eurocodes
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and relationship-building across the company
- Open-minded approach to solving civil and structural challenges
- Willingness to visit sites and offices
