Overview
In this role you will contribute to delivering high‑quality civil design for water and wastewater projects, from feasibility to detailed design, within a supportive multi‑disciplinary team. You’ll work with project managers and technical leads to meet safety, quality and schedule targets while developing technical capability and progressing toward chartership. The opportunity focuses on applying standards, producing design calculations and drawings, and sharing knowledge to support junior staff. This role offers hands‑on impact in shaping essential water infrastructure and a clear path to professional growth.

Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering design from feasibility through to detailed design
- Prepare design calculations, technical notes and reports
- Coordinate and manage preparation of technical drawings
- Support project delivery to programme, budget and quality targets
- Take responsibility for smaller projects or elements of larger schemes
- Assist with day‑to‑day financial and commercial management of engineering commissions
- Apply British Standards, water industry standards and company procedures
- Collaborate within multi‑disciplinary design teams
- Share knowledge and support development of junior team members
Key requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in civil engineering design
- Experience in water and/or industrial sectors
- Experience preparing and checking calculations, drawings and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of British Standards and water industry standards
- Familiarity with industry‑standard analysis and design software
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused approach
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Working towards (or interested in attaining) Chartered Engineer (ICE) status
