Overview

In this role, you lead the Equities Product Control function for EMEA, safeguarding daily P&L and balance sheet integrity while challenging performance and ensuring governance. You coordinate with Trading, Structuring, Sales, Risk, IT and Finance to assess new products and transactions, and to optimise financial resource use. The role sits at the heart of a growing equities business, offering exposure to complex products and cross‑border collaboration. You drive improvements in controls and leverage automation to support strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily P&L and balance sheet reporting with detailed commentary on drivers and market context
  • Challenge business performance, trading activity and resource deployment to ensure governance
  • Coordinate Finance reviews of new deals and transactions and report conclusions to senior management
  • Own PL recognition, reserves, and financial resource calculations for new transactions (EMEA Structured Rates)
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships across Trading, Risk, Operations and IT
  • Monitor controls and reconciliations, ensuring policy compliance and best practices
  • Continuously seek improvements to the control environment and automation
  • Represent Finance on key firm-wide projects and support cross-department initiatives
  • Lead with two senior reportees in London and a team of six offshore

Key requirements

  • Relevant product control experience with strong equity product knowledge
  • Track record in senior stakeholder management (Trading heads, CFOs, regulators)
  • People management experience across a multi-location operating model
  • Ability to manage time-critical issues alongside ongoing project work
  • Strong communication and cross‑regional collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail with analytic capability for performance and resource metrics
