Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will design, set up and optimise the production of heat pumps at scale. You’ll work within a growing Portadown team to improve processes, ensure safety and quality, and support maintenance activities. Your role helps accelerate the deployment of home heating technology that reduces fossil-fuel dependence. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions and contribute to Octopus Energy’s mission of greener, cheaper energy.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, set up, test, modify, optimise and monitor manufacturing processes and equipment
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure equipment and processes meet health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Support maintenance to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment
- Provide engineering input to maintenance planning and organization
Key requirements
- Minimum 3 years in technical engineering support within a mechanised, volume manufacturing setting
- Relevant engineering degree
- Strong technical expertise across engineering functions and practices
- Analytical and logical problem-solving approach
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills; proven project management under tight deadlines
- Awareness of health, safety and environmental considerations
- Computer literacy with CAD and MS Office
- Knowledge of heat pump or heating equipment manufacturing is desirable but not essential
- Rotational moulding experience desirable but not essential
