Lead Procurement Specialist

Overview

In this role you will lead the procurement process for assigned goods, aligning with sourcing policies and budgets. You will manage supplier relationships, handle RFQs and POs, and keep ERP data up-to-date, while advising cross-functional teams on procurement processes. You contribute to projects as a team member or small project lead, delivering results within 3–12 months. This position supports Baker Hughes’ mission to innovate subsea production systems for the oil and gas market.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end PO process from RFQ to fulfillment, including negotiation and placement
• Maintain supplier relationships for PO execution and issue resolution
• Handle schedule changes and problem resolution related to procurement
• Update ERP with procurement activity
• Advise functional managers on projects, processes and procedures in procurement
• Coordinate design and service delivery communications with colleagues and the business
• Contribute to projects as a team member or lead small projects
• Work outcomes typically materialize 2–12 months after completion

Key requirements

• Significant experience in direct sourcing, procurement and supply chain
• Experience preferred in Manufacturing or Engineering, Oil and Gas
• Experience with SAP and/or Oracle
• Excellent written and oral communication, strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Permanent UK work permit
