Overview
As a Procurement Specialist, you will manage supplier relationships and oversee the timely procurement of high‑value, long‑lead items. You’ll drive on‑time delivery, collaborate with planning, engineering and operations, and ensure compliance with sourcing policies. You’ll analyze market trends for cost savings and lead continuous improvement in procurement and supplier management. This role sits in our SP&S team within an engineering/manufacturing environment, offering cross‑functional impact and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities and purchase orders for assigned suppliers
- Drive on-time delivery and ensure materials meet business requirements
- Build and own supplier relationships as the primary procurement contact
- Identify and resolve supply chain challenges and escalate as needed
- Collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure smooth order execution
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans for delivery, quality, and cost
- Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, contracts, and procedures
- Support negotiations on pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
- Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify cost savings and process improvements
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supplier management
- Manage multiple suppliers and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Keep stakeholders informed of supplier performance, risks, delays, and mitigation plans
Key requirements
- Significant experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management within manufacturing
- Expertise in managing suppliers of complex, long‑lead‑time, high‑value products
- Strong stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills
- Experience coordinating multiple suppliers and priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Problem-solving, negotiation, and driving supplier performance improvements
- Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong oral and written communication with ability to influence across functions
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
