Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Utilities

Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Arup, you will deliver water utility projects and provide mechanical input across treatment facilities, pumping systems and pipework. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support feasibility and design under AMP8 frameworks for utilities, while mentoring less experienced staff. Your role includes securing work through active engagement and building networks within the water industry. Responsibilities

• deliver mechanical input for water utility projects, including treatment facilities, pumping systems and pipework
• support and mentor less experienced staff
• participate in work-winning activities and client engagement
• contribute to feasibility and design work under AMP8 delivery frameworks
• build networks within the water industry
• collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on utility and industrial projects

Key requirements

• demonstrable track record in mechanical feasibility and design for water utilities (water or wastewater treatment and transmission systems)
• familiarity with BIM, Plant 3D or equivalent design tools
• strong pumping system design knowledge and standards
• Master in Engineering or equivalent; Chartered Engineer status with IMechE or progression toward chartership
