Engineer/ Senior Mechanical Engineer, MEP (Rail)

Overview

In this role you will contribute to rail-focused mechanical design by interpreting client requirements and developing pipework, HVAC and ventilation solutions. You will select appropriate plant and equipment and ensure designs align with rail standards. You’ll work within a close-knit team to deliver safe, efficient systems for rail infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Interpret client specifications to develop mechanical designs
• Design pipework for heating, cooling, hot/cold water systems and ventilation
• Select plant/equipment (AHUs, fans, pumps, boilers, chillers, ductwork, etc.) based on designs
• Address above-ground plumbing, rainwater, drainage, and controls/BMS considerations within rail standards

Key requirements

• Experience of mechanical design in the Rail environment
• Chartership with a UK Engineering Institution
• Knowledge of above-ground plumbing and waste systems, rainwater and drainage design
• Familiarity with Network Rail and/or London Underground standards
• Knowledge of controls/BMS for mechanical systems
