Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute as an experienced mechanical engineer within a 20-strong building services consultancy in Central London. You will work on high-end retail and hotel projects and support expansion as the team grows over the next year. You will report to a director, gaining mentorship while handling client-facing technical work and design coordination. This position offers impact through delivering quality schemes and drawings on time, in a collaborative, professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients and provide technical information with support from Senior Engineers
• Interpret project requirements from drawings and briefs
• Attend design team and project meetings and respond to changes promptly
• Assist with preparing reports, specifications, equipment schedules and drawings
• Assist with stage reports and outline designs
• Assist with producing scheme design drawings for CAD
• Produce design calculations manually and with software packages

Key requirements

• 3+ years UK consultancy experience
• Industry relevant degree
• Longevity in previous roles
• Previous experience with retail/hotel projects advantageous

• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to work with Senior Engineers and multidisciplinary teams
• Timely responsiveness and proactive problem solving
• CAD design drawings
• Design calculations (manual and with software)
• Interpreting drawings and briefs
