Overview

As Senior Process Engineer, you will lead and assure process design for water industry projects from outline to detailed design, with construction/commissioning support. You will drive process deliverables, mentor engineers, and challenge solutions to deliver best value while advancing whole-life cost and net-zero goals. The role sits within the MMB framework in Wales, enabling you to shape treatment strategies across clean and wastewater assets. Responsibilities

  • Lead development of process design deliverables (process models, mass balances, control philosophies)
  • Provide technical assurance of process designs and ensure compliance with standards
  • Identify opportunities for innovation to meet whole-life cost and net-zero drivers
  • Analyse site performance and develop mitigation to manage risks
  • Challenge process selection to ensure best value solutions for clients
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and allocate appropriate project resources
  • Engage with clients, specialists, and project teams to defend and improve solutions

Key requirements

  • Chemical Engineering or related Process Engineering degree
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater unit processes and treatment plant design
  • Experience delivering process design for wastewater projects
  • HAZOP experience would be advantageous
  • Strong clean water non-infrastructure experience
