Overview

In this role, you will support production and sustainment of Leonardo’s AESA radar products, tackling complex hardware challenges across variants. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to investigate faults, implement upgrades, and improve tests and qualification processes. The role offers hands-on problem solving, autonomy, and opportunities to shape product sustainment and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a growing Surveillance Radar group at the Edinburgh site, contributing to mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support production and sustainment of Osprey and Seaspray AESA radar products across multiple LRUs
  • Lead fault investigation, diagnostics and root-cause analysis
  • Implement design changes, product upgrades and obsolescence resolutions
  • Drive test improvement and qualification testing
  • Coordinate with Operations, Electronics, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Firmware, Test, Supply Chain, Quality and Project Management
  • Contribute to defect reduction and production ramp-up activities
  • Maintain close, proactive engagement with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and meet project needs

Key requirements

  • A degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in Electronics, Hardware Engineering, RF Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience solving technical problems using structured, evidence-based approaches
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to make sound engineering judgments in a timely manner
  • Practical understanding of complex hardware products, production testing, design verification, or product sustainment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across engineering and non-engineering teams
  • Proactive, self-starting attitude and drive to see problems through to resolution
  • Security clearance eligibility (BPSS) and potential NSV/SC/DV suitability
